Black Ops 6 Season 3 Brings Major Competitive Updates

Season 3 is shaping up to be a big one for competitive Call of Duty fans. Treyarch announced key map changes in Search and Destroy, with Rewind and Dealership replacing Vault and Skyline in Ranked Play.

Alongside this, three new maps are joining the game, including a remake of the classic Firing Range. Additionally, several Modern Warfare 2019 weapons are making a return, such as the CR-56 AMAX, Kilo 141, and HDR.

Based on past seasons, Treyarch will likely test these new additions in Ranked Play before deciding whether they’ll become permanent. But the biggest change is one that directly targets cheaters—a problem that has plagued the Call of Duty franchise for years.

Black Ops 6 Players Get SR Refunds for Cheater-Affected Matches

According to CharlieIntel, Black Ops 6’s new system ensures that if a player loses a Ranked Play match due to a cheater, and that cheater is later detected and banned, they will get their lost Skill Rating (SR) refunded.

This is a game-changer, as SR determines Ranked Play divisions and end-of-season rewards. Previously, cheaters could unfairly impact players’ rankings, preventing them from reaching high-tier rewards like Irridescent.

Additionally, players who team up with cheaters will have their SR removed, meaning that cheaters and their teammates will struggle to remain in the Top 250 leaderboard. This should lead to a more balanced and fair ranking system overall.

Black Ops 6 Implements Major Anti-Cheat Change, but Warzone Players Are Left Out 1

Warzone Players Left Out of the Anti-Cheat Update

While this update is a huge step forward for Black Ops 6, Warzone players won’t benefit from it. Many in the Warzone community are frustrated that cheaters continue to run rampant in battle royale matches without similar penalties or SR compensation.

With Treyarch setting a new standard in Black Ops 6, many Warzone fans are hoping that similar anti-cheat measures will eventually be introduced across all Call of Duty titles.
