The qualifying stage to DreamHack Masters Malmö was announced
Organizers of the tournament have announced all details related to the qualifying process to DreamHack Masters Malmö. The event will be hosted at Malmö Arena from August 30 to September 3. The prize pool will amount $250,000, which will be divided among each other by 16 participants. 12 slots will be presented for teams, which will receive direct invitations. The rest four slots will be taken by teams, which will pass through the qualifying round in Europe, North America and countries of Asia and Oceania. The qualifiers will be carried out in two stages: the open stage and the closed one. DreamHack will divide two invites to the LAN-final in the European division, while only one invite will be up for grabs in North America and Asia-Oceania. The detailed information about regional qualifiers: The European qualification (July 9-11) The open qualifying round will be hosted on July 9.The closed qualifying round will be hosted on July 11. 8 best teams of the open qualification and 8 invited teams will take part in this stage.The format: a Single Elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The qualification in North America (July 9-11) The open qualifying round will be hosted on July 9.The closed qualifying round will be hosted on July 11. 8 best teams of the open qualification and 8 invited teams will take part in this stage.The format: a Single Elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The qualification in Asian and Oceanian countries (June 11-25) The open qualification will be carried out for participants from 5 different regions from June 11 to June 18.The closed qualification will be hosted on June 23-25. 6 best teams of the open qualification and 2 invited teams will take part in it.The format: a Single Elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The detailed information about regional open qualifiers in Asian and Oceanian countries: Oceania: June 11-13. 1 slot at the closed qualification.Gulf Cooperation Council: June 12-14. 1 slot at the closed qualification.India and Southeast Asia: June 12-15. 2 slots at the closed qualification.East Asia: June 16-18. 1 slot at the closed qualification.China: June 16-18. 1 slot at the closed qualification. Ninjas in Pyjamas became the champion of the previous DreamHack Masters Malmö having overcome Natus Vincere in the Grand Final with a score 2-0. The Swedes earned $100,000 for the victory. The total prize pool of the tournament amounted $250,000.
