NetEase Games köpt Quantic Dream
French video game developer Quantic Dream revealed on social media that after 25 years of the company's existence, the studio is being sold to NetEase Games. According to Quantic Dream, this step was taken to continue the development and existence of the company, as well as to attract new technologies.
Quantic Dream's collaboration with NetEase began in January 2019, when the Chinese company bought a minority stake in the French studio. Now, 100% of Quantic Dream is owned by the creators of Naraka: Bladepoint and Diablo Immortal. The new owners promised that the studio would retain creative freedom and independence.
Quantic Dream have made a name for themselves in the interactive movie genre. They began their history with the development of Omikron: The Nomad Soul for Windows and Sega Dreamcast in 1997. David Cage and his team managed to create such hits as Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. The studio's latest game to date is Detroit: Become Human, available on PlayStation and PC.
