Helldivers 2 står inför tuffa val i ny stor ordning

Things have gone south for Helldivers 2 as the galaxy’s most recent developments create chaos for players. The Meridia Singularity is now aimed at Super Earth, and no one knows how to stop it. Helldivers have just survived terrifying battles against mutated Terminids, and now, the Automatons are pushing back on the northwestern front.

But things are about to get even harder with the latest Major Order. Helldivers are called to defend either MD-8 Gas Mines or “the moderately feeble young adults on Julheim” from the Automaton threat.

What Is the New Major Order of Helldivers?

The Helldivers 2 Major Order text lays it out:

"The Automatons have launched a brazen attack, underhandedly capitalizing on the ongoing Terminid and Illuminate offensives to further their despotic schemes. Intercepted communications indicate the enemy has two ultimate targets. But our Federation only has the resources to save one."

This situation is looking eerily familiar for Helldivers players. It harkens back to a similar moral dilemma in June 2024 when Arrowhead Game Studios made players choose between saving MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines or Super Citizen Anne’s Hospital for Very Sick Children. The community voted to save the kids, which led to a $4,311 donation to Save the Children. The new dilemma, however, involves a choice between battlefield strategy and saving innocent civilians, making it just as intense as before.

What’s at Stake of Major Order in Helldivers?

With the Automatons launching a surprise attack, players are caught in another tough call. The MD-8 Gas Mines, while potentially useful in battle, seem risky, especially since mines are prone to friendly fire. However, the gas weapons have shown to be effective against the Terminid swarms. On the other hand, saving the young adults on Julheim presents a more moral choice, but without the practical benefits that the gas mines might offer.

What Does This Mean for the Helldivers Community?

As Helldivers 2 players face off with these tough choices, it raises the question: will their good nature win out, or will they opt for the weaponry that could save the day against the Automatons? The choice between strategy and humanity adds another level of depth to the Helldiver universe.
