The October 2025 update for Clash Royale’s Merge Tactics has arrived, bringing the first-ever seasonal reset — officially called the Seasonal Starsteel Reset. This update introduces a wave of new content, including brand-new Rulers, seven fresh troops, new traits and modifiers, balance changes, and a set of stylish skins. Here’s a complete breakdown.

Seasonal Reset: A Fresh Start Every Month

Merge Tactics is now officially a seasonal mode. Your Starsteel progress (trophies) and Merge Road will reset at the start of each season, which begins a week before every new Clash Royale season.

Each season brings:

• New Rulers, skins, modifiers, and rewards
• A Merge Tactics badge displaying the highest league you achieved
• A chance to climb again with a fresh competitive environment

The first reset kicked off on September 29, so players are already grinding for top rewards.

Two New Rulers

This update adds two powerful Rulers, one for October and one for November.

• Goblin Queen – Returns as a board Ruler, now with the Greener Grin ability, granting a 40% chance to spawn a Goblin each turn.
• Elixir Loong – A brand-new Ruler with a golden, dragon-like design. His passive skill Endless Spring gives +1 Elixir per turn and expands your team size by +1, opening up new strategies.

Seven New Troops

Seven fresh troops have been added, spread across three Elixir tiers:

New Traits

Traits have been updated and expanded to shake up the meta.

• Blasters – Gain +1 range and deal bonus damage based on distance (up to +20% per hex with 4 troops)
• Electric – Lightning strikes after 10 seconds, stunning and damaging enemies (15% max HP per strike with 2 troops)
• Fire – Damage increases with each enemy defeated (+40% damage with 2 troops)
• Mage – Transforms the strongest enemy into a rabbit for up to 8 seconds at the start of combat

New Seasonal Modifiers

Modifiers will now rotate each season, offering unique effects across different leagues. Highlights include:

• Bronze Leagues – Big Bucks (start with +5 Elixir), Elixir Festival (+2 Elixir per round)
• Silver Leagues – Endurance Training (+40% troop HP), You’re Mine (gain a 1-Star copy of the first defeated enemy troop)
• Gold Leagues – Chaos Chaos (merge transforms into random +1 Elixir troop), Master Arena (+100% HP and +50% damage if unmoved between rounds)
• Diamond League – Coaching (benched troops get +100% damage next round), Monster Drink (+200% HP and +100% damage for the lowest-HP troop at combat start)

More modifiers — including Swift Tile, One Punch, Mystery Shop, and Devil Snap — are scheduled for November.

Trait and Troop Reworks

Several troops have had their traits reassigned to better match their gameplay roles:

• Executioner, Spear Goblin – Now Blasters instead of Throwers
• Bandit – Changed from Avenger to Assassin
• Valkyrie – Reclassified as a Juggernaut
• P.E.K.K.A – Now has Avenger traits

Trait activation thresholds have also been adjusted. For example, Assassin, Avenger, and Rangers now activate at 2 and 4 troops (instead of just 3), and Undead gains a new 6-troop effect that curses enemies.

New Skins

Plenty of fresh skins have arrived this season, including:

• Astral Empress
• Malevolent Queen
• Royale King
• Aqua Loong (coming in November alongside Elixir Loong)

Each skin features unique confetti VFX, adding extra flair to your battles.

This is one of the biggest Merge Tactics updates to date, introducing a true seasonal structure, new strategic depth, and fresh content to keep the mode exciting month after month.
