Nytt God of War-videospel får lovande uppdatering från tidigare utvecklare i Santa Monica

God of War franchise is getting a lot of attention at the moment. Along with the recently announced God of War Trilogy Remake coming on PlayStation 5 and featuring TC Carson as Kratos, a TV series is now in production by Amazon, which will adapt the events of God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarok—although not all the fans are satisfied with the design of Kratos, portrayed by Ryan Hurst.

But what’s more important, the new mainline God of War title is rumored to be announced this summer, according to another voice actor of Kratos, Christopher Judge. The game is rumored to take place in Egypt, and now we have some exciting details from a former Santa Monica Studio developer. Some ResetEra users have noticed the next God of War installment is actually a “new franchise in the God of War universe,” according to the LinkedIn account of Lauren Signorino, a former senior writer who worked at Santa Monica Studio.

“Helped shape narrative vision and creative direction at Sony Santa Monica Studio for a new franchise within the God of War universe, developing characters, storylines, and original lore that expanded the acclaimed IP. Integrated story with gameplay and worldbuilding through scripts and narrative content, collaborating across disciplines to deliver emotionally driven experiences for a global audience. Contributed to long-term narrative and franchise strategy”

We have heard the rumors that the new God of War game will be a spin-off to the series and won’t feature Atreus as the main character. Moreover, it will feel more like a new IP, and according to what Lauren Signorino has written on his LinkedIn account, it certainly matches what’s stated above. Maybe Santa Monica is preparing to make an unexpected step in the God of War franchise, with a new main character in a new setting. Hopefully, if that assumption is right, the new game will not disappoint the fans.
