Focus Entertainment-teasing Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy släpps snart

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy was announced at last year’s Xbox Game Showcase. The new game set in the Plague Tale universe is not a sequel but a prequel, focusing on Sofia—a character from the 2022 game, A Plague Tale: Requiem.

Little has been heard about the game since its announcement, but a new blog post from Focus Interactive, the game’s publisher, reveals new details about the project. The game is set 15 years before the first installment, A Plague Tale: Innocence, in which we play as 22-year-old Sophie, but we also learn a lot about her childhood, when she lived in a bandit camp led by her father, Alec. Unlike previous games in the series, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will focus more on action and combat than on stealth and escaping rats. Sophie will have melee weapons at her disposal and will also be able to parry attacks. However, it appears that Sophie had already crossed paths with Makula prior to the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem.

Some plot details have also been revealed. During the game, after her mentor is banished, Sofia sets off for Minotaur Island in search of treasure, where she encounters mythical creatures. The developers at Asobo Studio are focusing not only on the young girl’s journey—as she grows stronger throughout the story—but also on mythology, survival, and exploration. By the way, the studio is also revamping the puzzles, which will now require interacting with light using an artifact and promise to be significantly more challenging. Finally, it was revealed that the game will be released very soon, and over the next few months, the development team will be working hard to meet the deadline. An official announcement of the release date is likely to come very soon. The game is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
