September 2026 is set to be an exciting month for major video game releases, with highly anticipated titles like Marvel's Wolverine, Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword all launching within a short span. Another standout game is the vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker from the studio Rebel Wolves.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is being developed by former creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, led by one of the game's directors, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. In a recent interview with PAP Biznes, he revealed that the studio’s upcoming debut project will resemble the classic Fallout titles—specifically in how the developers have crafted a sandbox experience where players can literally do whatever they want and choose their own path through the game. “The Blood of Dawnwalker will be primarily a narrative sandbox, similar to classic Fallout video games. Our premise is for the player to decide for themselves which path they want to take to the end of the game.”

In the same interview, Tomaszkiewicz also confirmed that Rebel Wolves is already planning the release schedule for future DLCs for The Blood of Dawnwalker, although these are unlikely to include significant story expansions. However, he noted that the studio aims to turn the game into a franchise and is already working on a sequel—yet the release of future games is not guaranteed. Earlier, Tomaszkiewicz stated that The Blood of Dawnwalker trailer shown at Summer Game Fest, which features a modern setting, is actually a post-credits scene that lays the groundwork for a sequel.

In The Blood of Dawnwalker, in the game you play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. The game is set in 14th-century Europe and is releasing on September 3 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
