Capcom has officially revealed its Gamescom 2026 lineup, and many fans quickly noticed that Resident Evil Veronica wasn't included, leading to concerns that the game might skip the event altogether.

According to what we’ve heard, Resident Evil Veronica is still expected to appear during Gamescom 2026. Fans may be able to expect new information, a new trailer, and more surprises that we'll be able to talk about closer to the event.

It's also important to remember that Gamescom officially kicks off on August 25 with Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley. As always, many major announcements, trailers, gameplay reveals, and surprises await fans during the event.

Speaking of a game that will definitely be showcased at Gamescom, Onimisha: Way of the Sword, recent information has surfaced suggesting that Capcom might release the game two weeks earlier than originally planned —on September 4 instead of the 25th. This move would help avoid competition with Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall, both set to launch a day earlier on September 24. Given that Gamescom 2026 takes place just a few days before this new potential release date, the decision makes a lot of sense.

As for Resident Evil Veronica, the game is scheduled for release in 2027, although the exact date is still unknown. It will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
