September 15 marks the release of Marvel’s Wolverine - one of the year's most highly anticipated video games and the new PlayStation 5 exclusive from Insomniac Games. Over the past week, the studio has drawn plenty of attention to the game with a new story trailer as part of its San Diego Comic-Con presentation. It's also been announced that the review embargo will be available in just a couple of weeks, so fans will soon get a clearer sense of what to expect from Insomniac's new project.

As reported by PlayStation insider TCMFGames, gaming media outlets have already been given access to a trial version of Marvel's Wolverine, with impressions set to go live on August 13—almost a month before release. That is also reinforcing confidence the game won't be delayed.

Wolverine PS5 Press Embargo live August 13th.

Press have begun playing the game and have sunk in time.

They have their first impressions seemingly ready but can’t share until August 13 2026.

This is well ahead of launch so there seems to be solid confidence from Insomniac Games.

Backing that up, well-known YouTuber Caboose posted on his X page that he has already played Marvel's Wolverine and confirmed he will be sharing his impressions on August 13. He also posted a photo with Liam McIntyre, the game's voice actor and motion capture performer of Logan, as you can check out below:

I PLAYED MARVEL'S WOLVERINE...and that's all I can say for now. My full thoughts will be posted on August 13th at 8AM PDT.

I also met Liam McIntyre and he knew who I was?!! Still can't believe that happened.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Insomniac Games shared a new story trailer for Marvel's Wolverine and revealed a few new gameplay details. Specifically, it appears that Logan has lost his memory in the game, and Jean Grey—with whom he probably had a romantic relationship in the past—helps him get it back. Despite fan speculation, the developers have confirmed Jean Grey won't be a second playable character.

Marvel's Wolverine, the action-adventure title from Insomniac Games set in the same universe as the Marvel's Spider-Man series, is in development exclusively for PlayStation 5, with a release date set for September 15.
