Netflix is set to release The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, a new anime addition to The Witcher franchise, on February 11. The story unfolds during the timeline of the live-action show, specifically between episodes 5 and 6 of the first season, and promises fresh insight into the complicated relationship between Geralt and Yennefer.

According to SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar+), writers Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin describe the anime as exploring a "period of trouble" in Geralt and Yennefer's relationship, while maintaining its alignment with the live-action chronology. The film will include a previously cut scene from Henry Cavill's first season, adding a "fun little" moment that enhances the narrative.

Anya Chalotra reprises her role as Yennefer, while Doug Cockle lends his voice to Geralt in the anime, teasing a deeper dive into their emotional connection. "Geralt cannot let Yennefer go," Ostrowski shared. "She haunts him. Even if he wanted to be rid of her, he can't."

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is an upcoming adult animated fantasy drama film based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story "A Little Sacrifice" from Sword of Destiny.
