Mob Entertainment has announced that Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is set to release in January 2025. The developer, based in St. Louis, Missouri, also revealed new details about the upcoming chapter, which will initially be available exclusively to Steam users.
Poppy Playtime is a survival horror game that explores pediophobia — the fear of dolls and other humanoid inanimate objects. The game’s first chapter was released in October 2021, followed by Chapter 2 in May 2022, and Chapter 3 in January 2024.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 Set for January 2025 Release
Mob Entertainment has confirmed that Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 will arrive in January 2025, accompanied by the release of its first teaser trailer. The developers have teased that this will be the darkest and most unsettling chapter yet, featuring new terrifying characters and further expanding the lore of Poppy Playtime. Players will have the opportunity to uncover more about Playtime Co. and navigate new levels, which will introduce innovative gameplay mechanics aimed at creating fresh horror experiences that leave players feeling vulnerable.
A New Villain in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4
While the iconic, toothy blue doll Huggy Wuggy has been a central figure in Poppy Playtime since its debut, Chapter 4 will introduce a brand-new villain.
From what has been teased so far, players can expect to return to the eerie Playtime Co. factory, the focal point of the game's disturbing storyline. In terms of length, Chapter 4 is expected to be slightly shorter than Chapter 3, which took approximately six hours to complete, making it the longest chapter to date.
Steam Wishlist and Future Platforms
Starting September 30, Steam users will be able to add Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 to their wishlists. As with the previous chapters, this one will initially be released exclusively on Steam. However, given that earlier episodes were eventually made available on platforms like the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices, it is likely only a matter of time before Chapter 4 is similarly expanded to other platforms.
