Lanseringen av nya PlayStation/Xbox-konsoler kan bli försenad

The current generation of consoles includes PlayStation 5 from Sony and Xbox Series X/S from Microsoft, respectively. But there is no doubt new consoles will be released soon enough; however, according to the new report, we may have to wait more than expected.

According to well-known industry insider Tom Henderson, the next generation of consoles, initially eyed to be released during 2027-2028, now seems unlikely and could be delayed indefinitely. The reason is simple—the increased amount for RAM modules is due to its demand for AI. This was also a reason, according to Mike Straw, who is a senior editor for the Insider Gaming portal, why Half-Life 3 wasn’t announced at The Game Awards 2025, as Valve was reportedly looking to launch Steam Machine, but RAM pricing may change its plans.

Nevertheless, we will probably have to wait a couple of years to see new PlayStation and Xbox, so now we should only be excited for new exclusives for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
