Första titt på Jak och Daxter Remastered Version avslöjad av utvecklare

It’s been a while since we saw the latest Jak and Daxter installment, a popular gaming franchise originally developed by Naughty Dog (The Last of Us, Uncharted) about the friendship between two friends set in the fictional world where ancient technologies are combined with futuristic elements.

As we know, earlier this year Sony decided to shut down Bluepoint Games, the developers of Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus. It was also revealed that the studio wanted to make a Bloodborne remake, which was declined by From Software, but they also reportedly pitched some ideas about Jak and Daxter and Resistance remasters. However, we know that Sony was against this, and we didn’t receive new versions of beloved game series titles.

Some fans also speculated that the new Jak and Daxter or Resistance game may still be in development but from a different studio, and we just received a report on how the remastered version of Jak and Daxter can look. Moreover, it was shared by Travis Howe, senior animator of Sanzaru Games (Spyro Reignited Trilogy), who revealed on his LinkedIn account that the studio was working on Jak and Daxter Remastered version, which wasn’t commissioned by Sony. To mark the release of the updated version of the game, Travis Howe also posted a statement on his LinkedIn profile, which you can check out below:

“A long while back, a team was assembled to pitch a remaster of Jak & Daxter. I was asked to animate an IGC shot-for-shot, to show what this updated version would look like.

To be abundantly clear: this was NOT commissioned by Sony, nor did they have any involvement in our proposal -- this was essentially a fan pitch to try and gain their permission.

Although the remaster wasn't to be, I'm really proud of how it came together!

The latest Jak and Daxter game, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, came out in 2009 for PlayStation 2 and PSP. The game was also released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in March 2024.
