Bluepoint Games erbjöd Sony att göra en remake av Bloodborne, men idén avslogs.

Bluepoint Games studio is confirmed to be shut down by Sony this month. This reveal has left PlayStation gamers disappointed, as Bluepoint Games has released some great remakes—Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls. They also worked on a cancelled live-service God of War game before it was cancelled and pitched four different projects to Sony, but none of them have received a green light.

Specifically, as revealed by Detective Seeds, two of the above-mentioned four titles were remakes, and now a new report confirms that Bluepoint Games was looking to make the remake of Bloodborne—one of the best exclusives for PlayStation 4, developed by FromSoftware and released back in 2015.

The same source, Detective Seeds, has revealed more info about Bluepoint Games attempt to make a Bloodborne remake. The studio made an offer to Sony for the first time back in 2021, shortly after the release of Demon’s Souls remake. However, the attempt failed due to “internal politics of Bloodborne involving a fragile relationship with FromSoftware, Sony, and the original IP.” The studio tried to make another offer to Sony about Bloodborne’s remake in 2025, and Bluepoint Games wanted to make the remakes of Jak and Daxter and Resistance. The idea was promising, but Sony says no to all possible new titles.

As we can see, Bluepoint Games had some really exciting ideas, and considering how high-quality the remakes of Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus were, there is no doubt they would have done the same great work with the Bloodborne remake, as well as the improved versions of Jak and Daxter and Resistance. Unfortunately, we are unlikely to get any of these remakes anytime soon.
