Sonys nya Fairgames med livetjänster imponerade inte på spelare med pre-alpha-versionen

Sony is continuing to make a bet on live-service and extraction shooters. Last month, Bungie released Marathon, which turned out to be a huge success for its parent company, and the studio’s next priority in this segment is Fairgames, which is developed by Haven Studios.

However, it looks like so far, the game is far away from being a successful title, capable of attracting numerous players. As reported by Tom Henderson, via an exclusive report from Insider Gaming, some players were able to try a pre-alpha version of Fairgames, and they remained unsatisfied with the game so far. Specifically, they played in a new mode titled Cargo Heist, where you need to collect loot, break into storage units, and evacuate the area.

According to the description of Fairgames’ gaming process, visually and in terms of movement, the game looks like a mix of Call of Duty and The Division; the gameplay shows how four teams with three players each raid the mansion using a class system, wall-running, and grappling mechanics. However, according to testers's feedback, nearly every aspect of the game requires significant refinement—particular criticism has been directed at the clunky movement, the class system, and the generally dull gameplay, which caused players to quit sessions right in the middle of a match.

Fairgames is still believed to be at an early stage of development, as gamers took part in a closed pre-alpha testing, but if Sony doesn’t want to repeat the history of Concord, they must do something that will make Fairgames feel different.
