En nyinspelning av det ursprungliga Assassin's Creed-spelet är enligt uppgift under utveckling hos Ubisoft.

Following the success of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black, revealed by Ubisoft this week, the studio is also reportedly working on another remake of a franchise title, although it remains a topic of speculation and is not confirmed yet.

A few days before the official reveal of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Insider Gaming revealed that Ubisoft is also working on “at least one more Assassin’s Creed game as a remake,” with the addition that “future remakes will enter development depending on how well Black Flag Resynced performs.” Specific games weren’t mentioned, but now we have more evidence that it might be the remake of the original Assassin’s Creed video game, which was released back in 2007. The initial report came from game series insider xj0nathan, who revealed that he had heard about another Assassin’s Creed remake since 2023, but more information was shared by industry scooper Tom Henderson at the latest episode of the Insider Gaming Podcast. Although he didn’t mention it will be the remake of the very first Assassin’s Creed game, Ubisoft is looking to “revisit the series.” More of his words you can check out below:

“Based on Black Flag, they'll then like revisit the series then distinguish and pick out what other remakes they can do.

From what I understand that the DLC isn’t coming. They have no plans to do it. Obviously, if it sells immensely well, right, like it does 10 million units, maybe they’ll do it and it’ll come out in a couple of years. But at the moment there’s no plans for it.

There's some very unusual stuff going on internally at Ubisoft with how they're making games. I can't say much more than that, but it's going to be interesting when that report comes out soon.”

It looks like Ubisoft doesn't need to worry about the financial success of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, as the game is reportedly both №1 and №3 on the best-selling pre-orders list on the PlayStation Store, as well as in the top 10 in the United States. The game was also at some point in the top 10 best-selling games on Steam, and now, according to SteamDB, it ranks 16th.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will be released on July 9 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. A version of Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to be in development and released later on.
