NetherRealm Studios, the developers behind games such as Mortal Kombat and Injustice, have been working on a new fighting game for quite some time, and according to recent reports, it will be the third installment of Injustice, based on the comic book series

The information came to light thanks to a resume from one of the artists at Warner Bros. Games, which indicated that Injustice 3 is listed among the projects currently in development, along with Hogwarts Legacy 2 and two unannounced projects. However, new information from insider MultiverSusie suggests that NetherRealm Studios' next game isn't Injustice 3, but it is still connected to the DC Universe.

Some fans have speculated that another Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe game might be on the way. The original crossover was released in 2008 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, where the story mode was presented from two different perspectives. The game featured the main characters from Mortal Kombat (Scorpion, Raiden, Sonya Blade, Kitana, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, Kano, Liu Kang, Jax, Baraka, and Shao Kahn), while the DC side was represented by The Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Catwoman, Captain Marvel, The Joker, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, Deathstroke, and Darkseid. But there was one thing that united both universes: the game’s villain, Dark Kahn.

So far, NetherRealm Studios has not commented on the possible leak regarding its next project, but it is known that the game is already in an advanced stage of development and may be officially announced in the near future.
