Claire Redfield blir huvudkaraktären i Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake

The remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica is one of multiple projects that are reportedly in development at Capcom, alongside story DLC for this year’s Resident Evil Requiem. The game is not officially confirmed yet, but the announcement is expected to happen soon, with plenty of details about the remake having recently been revealed.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake is claimed to be Capcom’s priority at the moment; it is also reportedly directed by Kazunori Kadoi & Yasuhiro Anpo, the same duo who directed the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, and will feature new content and expansion of the story compared to the original game. Earlier this week, the franchise insider Dusk Golem revealed Code Veronica Remake is actually positioned as a sequel to Resident Evil 2: Remake in terms of Claire Redfield's continuation story. The latest report from the scooper confirms Capcom is making Claire the main character of Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, but the role of her brother, Chris Redfield, is also crucial, as you can check out below:

“Claire is being treated as the main character of Code Veronica Remake I hear. Chris isn't a small part, Capcom also realizes this is the first RE Engine game we're seeing "younger Chris" from the Remake era, but Code Veronica has always been more Claire's game narratively than Chris, who's there more as a supporting role & secondary MC. His main ties to what's happening is through Wesker & Claire herself, while Claire's narrative is more involved with the Ashford's, Rodrigo, Steve, etc. And hear this fact is emphasized more in the Remake.”

In the original Code Veronica title, Claire Redfield also receives much more screen time, and the story is more focused on her as well. Speaking of the game’s official presentation, Dusk Golem previously stated that Code Veronica Remake could potentially be revealed during Summer Game Fest, which takes place from June 5 to June 8.

As for the story DLC to Requiem, according to the leaker, who previously predicted the plot of the main game, the game will feature two story expansions – one dedicated to Leon S. Kennedy and Alyssa Ashcroft, and the second to Chris Redfield and Ada Wong.
