Clash of Clans avslöjar massiva balansförändringar och framtida spelplaner för maj 2026

Supercell has released the second part of its latest State of Gameplay blog for Clash of Clans, this time focusing heavily on balance adjustments, CWL modifier updates, and future gameplay content planned for May 2026.

Following earlier announcements about new CWL tiers and player-focused events, the developers are now shifting attention toward gameplay balance and meta adjustments across multiple systems.

CWL Modifier Changes Continue

Supercell confirmed that Clan War League modifiers are being adjusted once again while the team continues refining the long-term competitive system.

Updated CWL modifier setups:

League
Modifier Setup
Titan III & Titan II
Legend II modifiers
Titan I & Legend League
Legend I modifiers

According to the developers, the changes are intended to:

  • Improve competitive balance
  • Create healthier attack environments
  • Gather more data on hit rates and modifier impact across leagues

Giant Arrow Receives Major Rework

One of the biggest changes targets the Giant Arrow equipment.

Instead of continuously buffing its base damage whenever new Air Defense levels are added, the equipment will now specifically deal:

  • Double damage against Air Defenses

At the same time, its overall damage against other targets is being reduced.

This change is designed to make the equipment more specialized rather than universally powerful.

Dragon Duke Meta Gets Nerfed

Clash of Clans Reveals Massive May 2026 Balance Changes and Future Gameplay Plans 1

Several changes directly target the currently dominant Dragon Duke strategies.

Rocket Backpack nerfs:

  • Slightly reduced penetrating damage
  • Larger directional interaction rework planned for June

Fire Heart nerfs:

  • Reduced regeneration values
  • Lower DPS across multiple levels

Dragon Duke nerf:

  • Trap damage reduction lowered from 50% to 40%

Supercell says these adjustments are intended to reduce Dragon Duke’s overwhelming impact on the current meta.

Lava Launcher Hit With Heavy Nerfs

The Lava Launcher is receiving some of the harshest balance reductions in the update.

Nerfs include:

  • Lower DPS
  • Reduced attack range
  • Decreased lava pool damage

The defense had become extremely oppressive against ground-based attacks, especially at higher Town Hall levels.

Anti-Air Defenses Get Buffed

To counter the game’s increasingly air-heavy meta, Supercell is significantly buffing Air Bombs.

Air Bomb improvements:

  • Attack range increased from 900 to 1100
  • Much faster attack speeds across all levels

The changes are expected to strengthen anti-air defense performance against popular aerial strategies.

Roaster Receives Massive Buffs

The Roaster defense is getting substantial upgrades across nearly every major stat.

Buffs include:

  • Faster attack speed
  • Increased damage radius
  • Higher damage output
  • Larger burst counts

Supercell appears to be pushing the Roaster into a much stronger defensive role for Builder Base gameplay.

Sky Wagon and Air Units Nerfed

Several air-focused offensive strategies are also being toned down.

Sky Wagon changes:

  • One less barrel attack
  • Fewer Minion spawns
  • Lower spawned unit upgrade levels

Dragon Rider nerfs:

  • Reduced HP
  • Lower DPS

Inferno Dragon nerfs:

  • Slight DPS reductions across all stages

The goal is to reduce the dominance of air spam strategies without completely removing them from the meta.

New Epic Equipment and Gameplay Features Teased

Outside the balance changes, Supercell also teased multiple upcoming gameplay additions currently in development.

The developers confirmed work is underway on:

  • A new Event Troop
  • Fresh gameplay mechanics
  • Another large-scale Epic Equipment item

While full details remain undisclosed, the blog hints that future updates could significantly change attack flow and gameplay pacing.

Ore Economy Concerns Finally Addressed

Supercell also acknowledged growing frustration surrounding the Ore economy and Epic Equipment progression.

Many players have complained that upgrading Epic Equipment has become increasingly difficult, especially for returning or casual players.

According to the developers, the team is now actively working on:

  • A fair catch-up mechanic
  • Easier Epic Equipment progression
  • Improved accessibility for newer players

More information about those systems is expected in future updates.

One of the Biggest Balance Updates in Months

With major nerfs to dominant strategies, buffs to underperforming defenses, CWL adjustments, and future gameplay systems already teased, the May 2026 Clash of Clans update is shaping up to be one of the game’s largest balance overhauls in recent months.
