Pragmata-regissören avslöjade att han gärna skulle vilja göra en uppföljare, men det är upp till Capcom
This year, for the first time in many years, Capcom released their new IP called Pragmata. The game became a major release, like Resident Evil Requiem, which came out earlier but still performed well financially, selling 2 million copies, and earned high ratings from players and critics.
So far, it is unclear whether Capcom plans to continue developing the universe and turn Pragmata into a franchise. But in a new interview with GamesRadar+, the game's director, Yonghee Cho, said that he would like to work on a sequel but made it clear that it does not depend solely on him.
“Of course, I'd love to see a sequel. But I'm not the only one who decides, so unfortunately, I can't really comment beyond that.”
Earlier this year, Capcom USA COO Rob Dyer teased that Pragmata could become a franchise in the future, as the studio “can continue to go down.” According to preliminary data, Capcom will release its quarterly financial report at the end of July or the beginning of August, which may provide more answers on whether Pragmata will get a sequel.
Pragmata is the latest Capcom installment, a sci-fi action-adventure game set in a near-future dystopian world on a lunar research station. You play as an android named Diana and an astronaut named Hugh, and together they must find a way out of this lunar station. Diana has the ability to hack the enemy’s security system, while Hugh is a specialist in firearms and has a jetpack.
