Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations kommer att erbjuda över 10 timmars speltid, och fler detaljer avslöjade

A new, major expansion for last year's Doom: The Dark Ages, titled Revelations, will release next week, and id Software promises to deliver something unforgettable for fans—at least that's what game director Hugo Martin teased at in a recent interview.

Martin recently spoke with IGN, where—ahead of the upcoming release—he revealed that the duration of Revelations for Doom: The Dark Ages is comparable to the length of a standalone game; players can expect approximately 10 to 12 hours of gameplay, about 40% of which consists of endgame content. Furthermore, he also revealed that Revelations will explore who the Slayer was before the events of the Doom universe. You can check out the highlights from Martin’s interview below:

“Revelations is a celebration of the Doom games. We've always treated all of the Doom games as canon. We have never had the chance to explore who he was as the Slayer. Before he was the Slayer he was a marine, his name was Flynn Taggart. we go back in the Nightmare levels and tell some of the Flynn Taggart story.”

Previously, Hugo Martin called Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations “among the best and most complete Doom experiences they've ever created” and also stated that the game's final boss would be the best in the franchise's history. The expansion’s key feature will be a new weapon wielded by the Doom Slayer—the Chain Spear—which can be used at any time, regardless of which weapon you’re using to take down enemies. This will also have a direct impact on the gameplay experience.

The Revelations expansion for Doom: The Dark Ages will be released on July 7th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Owners of the Premium Edition will receive it for free. It was also recently announced that PS5 Pro users of the original game will benefit from enhanced PSSR technology support.
