Take-Two Interactive kan snart presentera ett nytt utvecklingsteam - Small Axe Studios

It looks like Take-Two Interactive is preparing to announce a new gaming studio under its umbrella. Interestingly, the name behind it was already floating around in leaks over a year ago, when people were speculating about what a newly registered trademark actually meant.

As revealed via the latest MP1st report, Take-Two Interactive has registered a trademark called Small Axe Studios. As the image below shows, it covers classes 9 and 41—"video game programs" and "entertainment services", respectively. A similar trademark, Small Axe, was actually registered back last May, though at the time it was assumed to be the title of an upcoming game from a Take-Two-owned studio instead.

The report also points back to last December, when Jason Schreier reported that Take-Two had hired Perfect Dark studio head Darrell Gallagher and director Brian Horton to build a new studio within 2K—and it looks like they are the ones behind Small Axe Studios. Although there has been no official word from the company yet, it is worth keeping in mind that Take-Two Interactive’s next earnings call is set for August 7, and an official announcement could well follow shortly after.

Meanwhile, GTA 6 fans are also hoping August turns out to be a big month for the game. Insider Tom Henderson has suggested a new trailer for the most anticipated video game of 2026 will be released on August 6, the day before Take-Two’s earnings call. And another insider, NateTheHate, has claimed fans can expect official GTA 6 news sometime next month.
