Det ryktas att Sony arbetar på ett nytt Sly Cooper-videospel

Sly Cooper remains one of the many Sony franchises that fans are eagerly awaiting a return of. Rumors about a new installment regularly surface, but now it seems there are concrete indications the company may have begun development of a new entry.

As revealed via Substack, Sony recently registered a new trademark for Sly Cooper. Although it falls under the merchandise category and covers items such as comics, novellas, and other goods, this could be the company’s first step toward reviving the once-iconic franchise.

Sony has reportedly trademarked merchandise for their long dormant Sly Cooper franchise.

The last Sly Cooper game was released in 2013 for PlayStation Vita. Ever since the SuckerPunch IP has been inactive.

The studio went on to develop inFAMOUS: Second Son, Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yōtei.

It would be amazing to see the studio expand and develop more than one game at once, and to bring back both Sly Cooper and inFAMOUS in the near future.

As noted above, the latest installment in the Sly Cooper series, Thieves in Time, was released in 2013, and the last game in the series developed by Sucker Punch Productions, exclusively for the PlayStation 2, Thieves in Time, was released in 2005.

Earlier, insider NateTheHate reported Sony is considering a return to franchises that haven’t been given much focus lately but didn’t specify exactly which games those might be. Fans would certainly love to see a new Sly Cooper game from Sucker Punch, or perhaps a remake of the first game or the original trilogy.
