Carbon Copy is one of the simplest side stories in Control Resonant, which makes it stand out in a game full of ciphers and blinking lights. There is no puzzle here and no boss. What there is instead is The Park, the most hostile of the early zones, and a walk from one end of it to the other. Knowing the route means you can do the whole thing without fighting anything you do not want to.

How to Start Carbon Copy

In the northernmost section of The Park there is a tower under construction that has stayed relatively clear of the Mold. Heidi is at the back of the building.

She is looking for her sister and cannot get to her. Speaking to her hands over her old apartment key, which formally starts the quest.

That key is the only thing you need. The rest is navigation, and the whole quest can be finished in a single trip if you take the right line south.

How to Reach Hannah's Apartment

The apartment is at the southern end of The Park, and the path runs almost directly south from Heidi.

The large Rooftop sign on top of the bigger building in the middle of the zone is your waypoint. Pass it and keep going to the roof of the southernmost building, which you can identify by the yellow-lit couch and settee in the back corner.

Travelling by rooftop rather than at street level is the point of taking this line. The Park's ground floor is where the Mold concentrates, and the roofs let you cross most of the zone without engaging anything.

At the destination there are Molded enemies on the roof itself. Clear them, then go through the double doors.

Take the stairs down to the lowest accessible level and use Heidi's key on the apartment.

Speak to Hannah

Hannah, Heidi's twin, is in the bedroom at the back of the apartment. She is not in great shape mentally, which is understandable given how long she has been holed up alone.

Speak to her and tell her that her sister has been worried about her safety. That is all it takes. Hannah thanks you and agrees to stay put until an evacuation team can reach her.

Return to Heidi

Head back north to the construction tower and tell Heidi that Hannah is safe.

She is relieved, and agrees to hold her own position for rescue rather than going after her sister herself. When the conversation ends, Carbon Copy is complete.

What the quest is really asking of you is a message run between two people who are a few hundred metres apart and completely cut off from each other. Neither of them can make the trip, because The Park is the most hostile zone available at this point in the campaign, and Dylan can cross it in a couple of minutes over the rooftops.

Carbon Copy Rewards

The quest pays out the Untapped Mother's Locket Artifact.

As with every Untapped-line item in Control Resonant, it does nothing while it sits in your inventory. It has to be activated and equipped first, and the full description is worth reading, because some Artifacts pair their buff with a drawback.

Common Mistakes

Walking The Park at street level. The Mold is a ground-floor problem. Both legs of this quest are faster and safer across the rooftops.

Arriving without fire damage. Mold enemies are armored and fire-weak. If the roof fight at Hannah's building is going badly, the Central Resonant hands out a fire-based Combat Ability and is a short detour from here.

Missing the yellow-lit couch. It is the only reliable marker on the southernmost roof, and the double doors are easy to walk past without it.

What to Do Next

You are already in The Park, which holds two of the more involved side stories in the game.
