Cloud 9 nära att signera med yay
According to insider George Geddes, the North American esports organization Cloud9 is going to build a new VALORANT roster around yay. The club is currently in talks with OpTic Gaming, but a deal is expected to close soon.
yay has been playing for OpTic Gaming (formerly Team Envy) since last August. During this time, the 24-year-old American player became the winner of VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík, and also got into the TOP-3 at the end of VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin, VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers, VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers, VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen and VALORANT Champions 2022.
However, the OpTic Gaming organization failed to get into the affiliate program for VCT 2023, as a result of which all the players announced their departure from the team at the behest of the club.
In turn, Cloud9 has become a partner of Riot Games and will take part in the top competitive ecosystem along with Sentinels, 100 Thieves, NRG Esports, Evil Geniuses, FURIA, LOUD, MIBR, Leviatán Esports and KRÜ Esports.
International leagues kick off with the VCT 2023: Kickoff Tournament in February, featuring all 30 partner teams from Asia, America and Europe.
It is noteworthy that a little earlier, Cloud9 transferred mitch and curry to the inactive list. With these changes, the organization plans to build a new roster that will reportedly be built around yay. However, in reality, we can get a very interesting composition, in which the main characters will be people from Counter-Strike.
Cloud9's current VALORANT roster:
- leaves
- Xeppaa
- vanity
- JamezIRL (head coach)
- vexel and vapen (coaching staff)
- mitch and curry (inactive)
