April 29, 2025 — Riot Games officially launches the long-awaited gifting feature with the latest VALORANT update 10.08, giving players a new way to share in-game items with friends.

The newly added gifting system allows users to send items from the Featured Store, including skin bundles and individual cosmetics, to players on their friends list. This is the first implementation of a gifting mechanic in VALORANT and marks a major step toward increased social interactivity within the game.

How the VALORANT Gifting System Works

To send a gift, players must:

• Open the store and navigate to the desired bundle or item.
• Click the "Gift" button located in the bottom-right corner.
• Choose a recipient from their friends list (certain requirements must be met).
• Select either the full bundle or individual items to gift.
• Confirm the gift.

The recipient will be notified upon their next login and can either accept or decline the gift. If the gift is rejected or not accepted within 60 days, the sender will receive a full refund in VALORANT Points (VP).

Requirements and Restrictions

In order to use the gifting feature, both the sender and recipient must meet the following conditions:

• VALORANT account must be level 15 or higher.
• Friends for at least 7 days.
• Located in the same game region (e.g., Europe).
• Accounts must be in good standing (no bans or restrictions).
• Limited to 5 gifts sent and 5 gifts received per day.

Currently, gifting is only available for items in the Featured Store, but Riot Games has confirmed plans to expand gifting options in future updates.

Additional Changes in Patch 10.08

In addition to the gifting system, several balance changes and improvements were made in patch 10.08:

• Yoru: Ultimate ability Dimensional Drift duration reduced from 12 to 10 seconds; cost increased from 7 to 8 points.
• Astra: Nova Pulse stun duration decreased from 4 to 3.5 seconds.
• Brimstone: Audio for Incendiary improved for better audibility, especially inside smokes.

The update also includes various bug fixes related to agents and gameplay mechanics.

The gifting system opens up new social interactions for players and arrives just ahead of VALORANT’s fifth anniversary in June 2025. With further updates expected to broaden the range of giftable content, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for upcoming enhancements and anniversary celebrations.
