Ubisoft svarar på Assassin's Creed Shadows-läckor en månad tidigare
With a month still to go before release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already found its way into players’ hands. Over the weekend, photos surfaced showing early physical copies, while some players allegedly managed to briefly download the game from the PlayStation Store!
Now, leaked gameplay clips and story details are everywhere. Ubisoft is fighting to take down footage, but the internet moves fast – summaries and discussions are already widespread.
In response, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed community team posted a statement on Reddit:
“We are aware players have accessed Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its official release. The development team is still working on patches to prepare the experience for launch, and any footage shared online does not represent the final quality of the game.”
While Ubisoft urges fans to avoid spoilers, those who’ve played the leaked version report that the game is in decent shape – though day-one patches are still incoming.
This isn’t just another Assassin’s Creed release – it comes at a turbulent time for Ubisoft. The publisher has faced delays, financial struggles, and rumors of a potential sale or privatization. Meanwhile, job cuts have loomed over the company for months.
Originally set to launch last year, Shadows was pushed back multiple times. It’s the first major entry in the franchise since 2023’s Mirage, which itself started as an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Despite the leaks, Ubisoft is trying to keep the hype alive.
“Stay in the shadows, avoid the spoilers, and keep an eye on our channel for more official surprises in the coming weeks!”
March 20 is coming fast. But for some, the Shadows have already lifted.
