New gameplay of Mafia remake hit the net ahead of time

On the morning of July 22, the gameplay of the Mafia remake surfaced ahead of time. IGN was the first to notice this, deciding to publish a fresh video in 4K. It is noteworthy that the official premiere is to take place tonight.

Almost the entire video is occupied by a mission where Tommy and Paulie rescue Sam. Also, cuts of other moments of the game were shown, without key turns.

In addition to demonstrating the gameplay, the video contains comments from the developers of the Mafia remake. According to the authors, they tried to convey the atmosphere and charm of Mafia using modern technology. So when working on the storylines, the creators used motion capture and facial resemblance technology in order to make the characters more "alive".

The game itself is powered by the Hangar 13 engine. In addition to the engine, additional rendering and audio features were used for the Mafia remake.

The release of the game is scheduled for September 25th. The project will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
