CD Project RED arbetar på en ny The Witcher-trilogi

CD Project RED might be the busiest gaming studio nowadays; considering Cyberpynk 2077's sequel is now "in the middle of development", studio's priority remains The Witcher 4. Although we don't now the release date for game, according to the new report, developers have some really ambitious plans about the expanding the universe.

Recently, CD Project RED published their newest financial report and CEO of the company, Michal Nowakowski, was asked about the launch timeframe of new saga. And he revealed some really exciting information for all The Witcher gamers. He says their plan - is to launch an entire new trilogy within a six-year period. That means, considering The Witcher 4 is in development since November 2024, according to reports, we might have expect a release in 2027.

"Our plan still is to launch the whole trilogy within a six-year period, so yes, that would mean we would plan to have a shorter development time between The Witcher 4 and The Witcher 5, between The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6, and so on"

It will be so unusual to see The Witcher games releasing a way soon; for instance, the first game was released in 2006, the second - in 2011 and the third one - in 2015. Plus, short period of time during the development might have concern some fans regarding the quality of video game. Speaking of which, we know that Ciri will be the protagonist of The Witcher 4 and it's likely she will return in a lead role for The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6 - just like Geralt of Rivia appeared in three The Witcher video games.
