Capcom förbättrar stridssystemet för Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake

Although the only Capcom-confirmed project for Resident Evil game series is the DLC to this year’s Resident Evil Requiem, it is believed that the studio has already been working on Resident Evil 10 since 2021, as well as various remakes of the franchise’s old installments. And their next big release will be the remake of 2000’s Resident Evil Code: Veronica.

The upcoming remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica will be directed by Kazunori Kadoi & Yasuhiro Anpo—the duo responsible for directing the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4. The game is also expected to be much different than the original title by focusing on Claire Redfield more than on her brother Chris, adding new features, and expanding the story. According to the new report of insider Marcox, it will also receive an improved version of the blocking and knife-stabbing system that we saw in the remake of Resident Evil 4, but this time it will feature interaction with the environment, as you can check out below:

“The blocking and knife-stabbing system that appeared in RE4 Remake will be improved, with the addition of environmental moves (such as using walls or furniture to push enemies).”

This is not the first report from the scooper about Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake. Previously he shared that the game might include a possibility to switch between Claire and Chris in particular episodes of the game, seemingly during the puzzle solving, and he also revealed the first possible details of Resident Evil 10. However, until Capcom announces anything, you should consider these reports with a grain of salt.

At the same time, the studio released their new title, Pragmata, which has a high rating on Steam, similar to Resident Evil Requiem and other game series titles.
