Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert och 007 First Light är hittills bäst säljande spel 2026

More than half of 2026 has already gone by, and a significant number of major AAA titles have already sold several million copies each. A new report from analytics firm Circana lays out the top sellers for the first half of the year—and there were definitely a few surprises.

As Circana's Mat Piscatella revealed on his Bluesky page, Resident Evil Requiem topped the chart of 2026's best-selling video games, as the game also became the fastest-selling title in Capcom's history. Interestingly, second and third place went to new IPs—Crimson Desert from Pearl Abyss and 007 First Light from IO Interactive. Forza Horizon 6, which has the franchise's best financial performance yet, is in the fifth position, while LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is in the sixth position. The top ten also included two Nintendo titles—Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (7th) and Pokémon: Pokopia (8th)—along with some sports simulators - MLB: The Show 26 (4th), WWE 2K26 (9th), and NBA 2K26 (10th). Beyond Resident Evil Requiem, it’s worth mentioning the games rounding off the top three. Despite a slightly disappointing launch, Crimson Desert sold 6 million copies last month, which is an outstanding result for a brand-new IP. The developers keep releasing free updates for the game and have also confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 launch along with work on a DLC that will bring content that could significantly reshape one of the year's best RPGs.

As for 007 First Light, the updated sales figures haven't been shared yet, but IO Interactive recently released a new content patch, Behind Enemy Lines, and confirmed plans to keep adding new features for the title, similar to the Hitman game series.

Nevertheless, there's a good chance new titles will be included in the year-end best-sellers list before 2026 ends, as this autumn brings new entries in both EA Sports FC and Call of Duty - franchises that traditionally attract huge audiences and have massive fan bases. Plus, let’s not forget about GTA 6, the most anticipated game of the year, which is projected to generate up to $5 billion in revenue in its first week alone.
