Spelare vill att Remedy ska skapa L.A. Noire 2 i samarbete med Rockstar Games

This week, Remedy Entertainment released Control Resonant, their new game, which has been receiving positive reviews from both critics and gamers. The developers are expected to spend the coming months fixing technical issues and adding various minor updates, but fans already know what their next project should be like.

A discussion is gaining traction on social media suggesting Remedy should develop a sequel to L.A. Noire—an action-adventure game about detectives released in 2011 by Team Bondi, with rights held by Rockstar Games. According to GameRoll, such a sequel should be set in New York City in 1970, with a focus on atmosphere, collecting evidence, attention to detail, and narrative—all of which Remedy has proven its ability to deliver through its work on Alan Wake II and, more recently, Control: Resonant.

I am desperate for a sequel to LA Noire, but hear me out, Remedy should be the ones to develop it.

Rockstar is currently funding, marketing and publishing the Max Payne remakes. Their relationship is very strong and I think that giving them this IP would be a fantastic evolution of their partnership.

My idea for a sequel has always been to set it in New York City. Call it “N.Y. Noire” and have it taken place in 1970’s Manhattan. There’s so much room there for an absolute BANGER and I think it’d perfectly suit Remedy’s creative style.

This move could kill two birds with one stone. While Rockstar is working on Grand Theft Auto VI, as well as GTA Online and the upcoming multiplayer mode for the sixth installment, Remedy—with whom the studio has a good relationship—is working on other Rockstar franchises; it’s known the Finnish developers are actively working on the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, with Rockstar fully funding the development. Incidentally, recent reports indicate the upcoming remake will be the company’s next release after GTA 6.

We recently saw yet another example of the warm relationship between Remedy and Rockstar, as the latter congratulated them with the launch of Control: Resonant. The studio’s new project has a score of 83 on Metacritic and nearly 90% positive reviews on Steam. The game is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and the developers have confirmed a New Game++ mode and a photo mode will be added in the coming autumn months.
