Sony öppnar förhandsbeställningar för God of War Laufey

Sony and Santa Monica Studio have announced that pre-orders for God of War Laufey will open on September 29 at 10:00 AM local time. In a PlayStation Blog post, the studio also revealed which editions of the game will be available, what players will get for pre-ordering, and gave a short look at the main character's combat system.

As a reminder, the game's protagonist is Faye, also known as Laufey, Kratos's wife and Atreus's mother. According to the developers at Santa Monica Studio, she is "an expert warrior with the ability to harness a range of skills to command the flow of the battle." In the post, the company also shared new details about the upcoming gameplay.

The heroine's main weapons will be a sword and the Serpent Bow. Nothing is known about the sword yet, while the enchanted bow can shift its form like a serpent. It will have two firing modes. Fully pressing the aim trigger lets Faye aim precisely, while a half press switches her into a more mobile hip-fire stance.

The bow can be customized with different Scales that change both its combat style and appearance. These upgrades can be earned during gameplay, and there will also be unique ones available only in the Deluxe version of God of War Laufey.The developers also thanked players for their interest in the project since the reveal and shared a short message:

Thank you so much for all the interest and support shown for the game since our reveal in June.

God of War Laufey will be available in two editions. The Standard Edition includes only the base game, while the Digital Deluxe Edition includes:

• Dark Alchemy Armor Set;
• Dark Alchemy Blade;
• Dark Alchemy Bow Scales;
• Dark Alchemy Catalyst;
• In-Game Resource Pack;
• Digital Mini Artbook;
• Official God of War Laufey Digital Soundtrack.

In addition, everyone who pre-orders any edition will receive the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves cosmetic appearance, and an in-game resource pack. Owners of the physical Standard Edition will receive these bonuses via a download code, which requires an internet connection and a PlayStation account.

The game takes place in the Everywhen, which Santa Monica Studio calls the afterlife of the gods. God of War Laufey launches on February 16, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Sony hasn't announced prices for the editions yet and there's no word on a PC version.
