GTA 6, launching November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, is almost certainly Rockstar's most anticipated release ever. The game's scale is genuinely staggering, as everyone saw when the first gameplay footage dropped late last month. But talk has already begun about what Rockstar might tackle next.

Right on cue, a new rumor claims the studio's next game will arrive in 2030 and will be a sequel to the 2011 cult classic L.A. Noire, following detective Cole Phelps. The info comes from a GTAForums user who's previously leaked accurate GTA 6 info, such as the game originally having four protagonists, later confirmed by Rockstar North co-head Rob Nelson. According to that same source, L.A. Noire 2 will be set in San Francisco, centered on the infamous Zodiac Killer, with Rockstar aiming for extremely realistic facial animation, the feature the original game was once praised for and famous for.

This guy stated in 2023 that GTA 6 was supposed to have 4 characters and was only recently confirmed by Rob Nelson a few weeks ago. He also described the relationship and criminal profile system. The relationship system was known in 2022, but the criminal profile wasn't.

Interestingly, fans have recently voiced a wish to see L.A. Noire 2 handled by Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind the newly released Control Resonant. Remedy is already working with Rockstar on the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, and some fans think that while Rockstar's own teams are busy with GTA 6, a trusted partner like Remedy could take the lead on other Rockstar franchises.

For now, though, this L.A. Noire 2 report should be treated as a rumor. As for GTA 6 itself, the game’s collector's edition, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, was unveiled last week, with more details expected tomorrow when the game headlines the latest Game Informer issue.
