Netflix Assassin's Creed utspelar sig i antikens Rom
Netflix are officially working on a TV series based on Assassin's Creed franchise. It will be a second attempt to adapt one of the most popular gaming franchise; in 2016 Paramount Pictures released Assassin's Creed movie with Michael Fassbender in a starring role that was described by the fans and ordinary viewers as bad and disappointing.
Hopefully the second attempt will be much better and we have reasons to believe that. This week it was confirmed that Toby Wallace (The Society, Euphoria) will star in a Assassin's Creed show and recently we have found out screenwriters names: Robert Patino (DMZ) and David Wiener (Halo). But now we have a more interesting information regarding the show's setting.

As reported by Nexus Point News, Netflix's Assassin's Creed will travel to the place game series has never did - to the Ancient Rome. The show will also feature such iconic characters like Emperor Nero and Seneca the Younger, Nero's tutor. It seems like Assassin's Creed show is taking place somewhere between 54-68 AD. Unfortunately, it's all the information that source is giving us but it's definitely a good sign that this Assassin's Creed adaptation will be back to the franchise roots - location that has probably the best games in the series (Assassin's Creed 2 and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood) though it's a different time period.
Netflix's Assassin's Creed production is set to start in early 2026 in Italy.
