Recently, the CEO of Pearl Abyss, Heo Jin-young, has held a meeting with South Korean investors following the success of Crimson Desert. Although he wished the game’s plot could have been better, the studio’s primary target during the development was the gameplay. He also revealed potential plans for the future of Crimson Desert—specifically, adding a multiplayer mode and support of gamers's mods.

While Jin-young hasn’t announced anything, he stated that Pearl Abyss has already been trying to create multiplayer for Crimson Desert, but “there are clearly aspects of graphics that must be sacrificed in the current device environment.” Speaking of mod support, the talks are continuing to take place inside the studio, but currently “there are some challenges.” At the end, he indicated that Pearl Abyss wants to make Crimson Desert the game players will enjoy for years, and the studio will continue to actively support it.
