Over the past few days, we have seen speculations that Marvel’s Venom, the upcoming but unannounced spin-off from Insomniac Games, might be cancelled because of Venom’s voice actor Tony Todd’s passing in 2024. This information was revealed by another voice actor, Nadji Jeter, the voice of Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise.

However, his words were multiple reliable sources— including Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and seemingly one of Insomniac’s developers, who revealed that Marvel’s Venom is not cancelled. The studio hasn’t given any comments in that regard, but the new report gives another reason why the release of Marvel’s Venom might not be cancelled but delayed, as Insomniac Games is reportedly considering launching the title on PlayStation 6. Not only this, but more information, specifically, about Marvel’s Wolverine, the upcoming studio’s title, and future projects, was revealed by Marvel insider, That REDACTED Guy, as you can check out below:

“Now that actual developers are disputing the news that the venom game is canceled, I'll post the latest info I got a week ago,

So what I gathered,

The majority of Insomniac is heads down polishing and getting Wolverine ready

Peter's face model actor, who essentially confirmed he's doing mocap again is apparently doing mocap for 2 Insomniac projects

Internally it's still being decided whether Venom will be a cross gen title like Miles Morales, or if it should be a PS6 title that will lead into Spider-Man 3 which will be a PS6 exclusive”

It makes sense that Insomniac Games is now prioritizing Marvel’s Wolverine, as their latest title is set to release this September exclusively on PlayStation 5. He also mentions Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, which is reportedly in active development, and rumored to be launched at the same time Sony is looking to release their next-generation console, PlayStation 6. At last scooper revealed that Peter Parker’s actor, Ben Jordan, who recently spoiled that he’s doing mocap for his Marvel character, is actually involved in 2 Insomniac Games projects. One of them is obviously Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, but the second one might be Marvel’s Venom, considering the game was never announced and is still likely to be in development.

The studio’s next title, Marvel’s Wolverine, will release on September 15 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
