Nya officiella detaljer och skärmdumpar från GTA 6 avslöjade

Over the past week or so, plenty of leaked GTA 6 gameplay has surfaced thanks to hacker Cyberleek, and it looks like the leaks will keep coming. Meanwhile, ahead of the official GTA 6 presentation on Netflix, new official details have also come out, focused mostly on gameplay along with a few interesting plot points.

Dazed shared new details on GTA 6 based on an interview with Rob Nelson, head of development and co-studio head at Rockstar North. He confirmed the studio started work on the game back in 2013, right after finishing GTA V for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. He also stated the development team has more than doubled in size since Red Dead Redemption 2's 2018 release and that there's now a dedicated Los Angeles division focused entirely on NPCs.

On the sixth installment specifically, Nelson touched on a lot: gameplay, story, and characters. He claimed Rockstar aimed to build the most realistic world it could, one where player actions carry real consequences. Walk down the street armed, and you'll draw attention. NPCs are meant to feel like full inhabitants of the world rather than background dressing, something the leaked gameplay has already hinted at. Even with a linear story, Nelson revealed player choices will still shape things, thanks to an honor system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2's, likely even more refined this time. On other GTA 6 gameplay details, players will be able to play as Jason, Lucia, or both, switching between them regularly. Playing as both unlocks specific mechanics; one character driving while the other fends off pursuers or checks their phone. Nelson also reconfirmed that Bonnie and Clyde served as a key inspiration for the game.

Among other confirmed gameplay details: the weight and gym mechanics from GTA: San Andreas are making a comeback, and things like prolonged sleep deprivation, running from police, or drinking will all affect character condition. Nelson also added that Rockstar Games consulted former criminals, law enforcement, and arms dealers to help build a more realistic world and brought in over 50 real street artists to paint murals throughout the game. Dazed also shared some new screenshots, which you can check out below:

Today, Rockstar addressed the gameplay leak for the first time, calling it extremely upsetting for the team. The studio confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will still premiere tomorrow on Netflix as planned and that the game remains on track for November 19. Meanwhile, Cyberleek has released part of the game's prologue featuring Lucia.
