HoYoverse avslöjar första detaljerna om Nodusfall: Ingen karaktärsgacha, och det mesta av spelet kan spelas solo

HoYoverse has shared new details about Nodusfall, its mythology-themed co-op action game. Nearly a month after the first reveal at Gamescom, the developers gathered the ten most popular questions from the comments and answered them on the game's official social media, covering solo play, difficulty, platforms, how characters are obtained, and the game's world.

Nodusfall is built around multiplayer, but playing with others isn't mandatory. The studio confirmed that players will be able to complete most of the core content on their own, without teaming up with anyone else.

We don't require players to team up. Solo players can experience the vast majority of the core content. As for multiplayer, the greatest fun lies in coordinating roles within your team, and you can even trigger the cooperative multi-player "Divine Drain" mechanic together

In co-op, the main focus is on role distribution. Teams will also be able to activate a special mechanic called Divine Drain together. The maximum party size and detailed multiplayer rules haven't been finalized yet, and HoYoverse promised to share more later.

Despite the dark visual style that fans are already comparing to Elden Ring, the developers assured that the game won't be too difficult for newcomers:

We don't want difficulty to be a barrier for players entering Nodusfall. The game is designed to be accessible even for players who are new to this type of action gameplay, while still maintaining a high ceiling in terms of controls, coordination, and builds

Combat is built on each character's basic attacks and skills, as well as the Divine Skills system. These are freely customizable abilities with offensive, defensive, and support effects that can be combined to suit your playstyle or team composition:

In the same Boss fight, different skill combinations can lead to completely different solutions

Beyond boss fights, the game will feature a story and social activities. For example, you can play a musical duet with a friend or relax in the hot springs.

The biggest news for HoYoverse fans was the answer about monetization, since everyone has grown used to the gacha mechanics in the company's previous projects. But as the developers stated, unlike Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, you won't have to pull for characters on banners in Nodusfall:

Rest assured, characters in Nodusfall will not be obtained through gacha pulls. Players can unlock all characters by continuing to play the game

At the same time, the studio clarified that monetization details are still being worked out, so it's unclear for now how exactly the game will make money.

As for platforms, only PC is confirmed at this point. The developers promise to announce other platforms later through official channels.

HoYoverse also shared a bit about the story. The player will take on the role of the Weaver. The Weaver was once a messenger entrusted with a sacred mission, who for certain reasons lost the power bestowed upon them and fell into the mortal world. Now the Weaver travels through a world where divine authority has crumbled, and gods and living beings have been corrupted by the Mal, twisted into monsters called Dreadnodi. The developers explained the blending of mythologies from different regions like this:

We use the "differences" of mythology to build a richly layered world, and the "commonalities" of human emotion to bring these myths together into a single, unified world

Nodusfall doesn't have a release date yet. Pre-registration is already open on the game's official website.
