NAVI is 10 years old today!
It all started with CS 1.6
Natus Vincere became famous not thanks to Dota 2, by which she can be known all over the world, but because of the shooter discipline, CS 1.6. In 2009, when the whole world was playing the previous version of Counter-Strike, Ukrainians gathered a squad around which the e-sports organization NAVI was created.
The team immediately declared itself all over the world and became the first to manage to win the three largest tournaments in one calendar year. In 2010, they became champions of Intel Extreme Masters, Electronic Sports World Cup and World Cyber Games 2010. In addition, after the approval of the new format of Major tournaments, which have the status of the most prestigious CS: GO competitions, NAVI is the only organization that managed to attend all the majors, which none of the other eSports clubs managed to achieve.
Dota 2
NAVI became one of the popularizers of Dota 2 thanks to the legendary squad assembled in 2011 and further participation in the first three The International. At The International 2011 they became champions, and at TI2 and TI3 they took second places. It is noteworthy that the final of the third The International with the participation of Natus Vincere and Alliance has become so epic that to this day, most fans are considered the best in the history of DotA. TI3 is known not only for its grand finale, but also for its interesting quarter-finals in which Dendi, personifying Pudge, with Puppey was able to show one of the most memorable moments in Dota 2 history related to the abuses of heroes.
Other disciplines
Natus Vincere at one time did not want to limit themselves to two disciplines and signed the World of Tanks roster, which became one of the most successful in the history of the existence of the WoT competitive scene. In the card discipline Hearthstone Ostkaka, who performed under the NAVI tag, became the world champion in 2015. The status of one of the most successful teams in the world was also achieved by the Paladins division. Natus Vincere did not stop there and had in their arsenal players for StarCraft II, HotS, Quake, FIFA, League of Legends, Rainbow Six and PUBG. At the moment, in addition to CS: GO and Dota 2, Natus Vincere has left only R6 and PUBG in activity.
Legendary players
Under the tag Natus Vincere played several legendary eSportsmen in different disciplines. In CS 1.6 it was Yegor 'markeloff' Markelov, who was considered the best sniper in the world, as well as Daniil `Zeus' Teslenko, who later continued his career in CS: GO. The current version of Counter-Strike is best known for s1mple, which has an incredible number of fans around the world. In 2018, Alexander was recognized as the best player in the world. It is worth noting that he began to gain great momentum precisely after joining NAVI, although he had shown beautiful highlights like this before.
In Dota 2, the most popular were Dendi, which we mentioned earlier, and Puppey. This duet, in a sense, contributed to the expansion of NAVI's influence in the e-sports world, and when we saw each other in the arena, already on opposite sides of the barricades, we didn’t forget those good times when they fought side by side under the banner of “Born to Win”.
Media organizations
Natus Vincere is developing their media so much that many fans consider the enthusiasm of NAVI managers in this matter much more than in the results of their rosters. “Born to win” quite often release video blogs and other content. NAVI also has its own line of merchandise, which is actively in demand in many parts of the world. Unlike some organizations that failed to rebrand and showed things that the public didn’t like, Natus Vincere didn’t get into such stories and carefully thought out every step before taking it.
NAVI has both a lot of fans and a lot of haters. In most cases, this organization is either loved or hated by people. It does not too often leave people who are familiar with e-sports indifferent to themselves, and not every e-sports club can boast of such.
