Saber Interactive has rolled out a new hotfix update for World War Z: Aftermath, focused on improving the overall gameplay experience with a series of bug fixes and quality-of-life tweaks. The update places special attention on Extinction Mode, while also addressing general gameplay issues and polishing the user interface.

Extinction Mode, one of the game’s more demanding co-op experiences, received the bulk of the update’s attention. Several persistent issues have now been resolved, including:

• ✅ Corrected misleading pop-up messages about chapter availability for players lacking required DLC.
• ✅ Fixed issues preventing players without Extinction Mode access from accepting co-op invites.
• ✅ The confirmation button on the “mode unavailable” warning now works properly.

These changes aim to reduce friction in multiplayer sessions, especially for those navigating between DLC and base game content.

🛠️ General Bug Fixes Improve Gameplay Stability

Beyond Extinction Mode, the patch introduces a series of important fixes across core gameplay systems:

• 🪦 “Memento Mori” frame now correctly unlocks for players joining games in progress.
• 💥 Fixed a soft lock bug in the Heavy Weapons customization menu.
• 🔧 The “Jammer” perk for the WASP-180 SMG now activates as intended.
• 🤖 The “Drone Army” mutator properly deploys drones once again.
• 🗂️ Improved navigation in the collection menu, fixing issues with empty item slots.
• 📝 Corrected the text description of the “Doppelganger” mutator in both English and Russian.

While this hotfix doesn’t add new gameplay content, it introduces a welcome UI improvement:
