Kritiker hyllade Final Fantasy Resonance massivt - Recensioner avslöjade

Tomorrow, October 22, marks the release of the new Final Fantasy title, Resonance. It is a JRPG featuring a traditional turn-based combat system that combines pixel art with a 3D environment. Ahead of the upcoming launch, game critics have already shared their thoughts on Square Enix’s new project.

As a whole, Final Fantasy Resonance has received very high praise from critics. Journalists unanimously praise the combat system, the superb soundtrack, the well-developed characters, and the intriguing side quests. As of now, Final Fantasy Resonance has a score of 85 on Metacritic. It has the same score on OpenCritic, where 91% of critics recommend the game. You can check out some of the brief reviews below:

DualShockers - 100/100:

Being a Final Fantasy fan has never been easier or more rewarding. While the mainline entries focus on pushing novelty, Final Fantasy Resonance bets on familiarity and years of learned design, delivering an experience that feels comforting yet refreshingly distinct.

Console Creatures - 90/100:

Final Fantasy Resonance celebrates the series as much as it reinvents the mobile game it's based on. The writing is great, with deep characters and story moments that stayed with me after the credits rolled. Rain and company are great leads, with the villains being just as strong. Combat is a blast, inviting plenty of experimentation with the Visions, even if it can drag in the final hours with similarly lacklustre dungeons. There may be issues, but they get lost in the bombast, gorgeous cutscenes and environments that make full use of the HD-2D art style. Final Fantasy Resonance is fantastic, and I hope we return to this world for the rest of the mobile game's story arcs. It's one I'd be happy to return to.

PSX Brazil - 90/100:

While it still leaves plenty of content from the game that inspired it for future sequels, Final Fantasy Resonance brings one of Square Enix's best games of the last decade to consoles. The title features excellent characters and narrative, combat that captures the best of the series' classics without the limitations of a mobile game, and a beautiful visual overhaul in HD-2D. If you're a Final Fantasy fan, you'll love the experience.

RPG Fan - 85/100:

It would be easy for the game to feel awkward or like it wants to be something else. It doesn’t. And nothing about it feels like a retooled gacha game. Instead, Final Fantasy Resonance’s masterful presentation, along with its understanding of why people yearn for a return to those games, makes for a fully realized, confident experience that stands on its own, originality be damned.

Destructioid - 80/100:

A gorgeous 2D-3D love letter to the franchise for its 40th anniversary, Final Fantasy Resonance is a nostalgic joy that all long-time fans should experience.

Push Square - 80/100:

Square Enix has hit on something surprisingly special with Final Fantasy Resonance. While its story and characters struggle to break away from being all too predictable at times, its old-school, turn-based gameplay is fantastic.

At least two new games in the franchise will be released next year. Specifically, Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold—a new expansion—will launch in January, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation—the conclusion of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy—will release in April. Recently, it was revealed the game will receive two DLCs and will require more than 200 GB of free space on the hard drive.

As for Final Fantasy Resonance, the game is launching tomorrow, on October 22, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Switch 2.
