Genshin Impact 6.4: Varka är nästan här — men är Anemo Claymore värd att dra?

Denna artikel finns tillgänglig på följande språk

After a turbulent beta period, Genshin Impact is preparing to introduce Varka in Version 6.4, scheduled for release on February 25, 2026. While his kit introduces an exciting concept—a 5-Star Anemo Claymore wielder—the final execution may fall short of expectations. With the Lantern Rite now officially underway, players are enjoying generous rewards, a new Permanent Event, and teasers for the upcoming characters Zibai and Illuga. Columbina’s Event Banner has proven exceptionally popular, and HoYoverse has ensured plenty of opportunities for players to recruit the Moon Maiden of Nod-Krai.

While Columbina stands as the centerpiece of Lunar Reaction teams in Nod-Krai, the region has quietly developed an alternative playstyle since Version 6.2: Hexerei. This system has brought Mondstadt characters back into the spotlight, strengthened by new additions such as Durin and Varka. As an off-field Pyro unit, Durin was widely expected to become one of Varka’s strongest supports. However, even within his optimal team compositions, Varka’s damage output has raised concerns among theorycrafters.

Genshin Impact: Varka Overview (Version 6.4)

  • Name: Varka
  • Gender: Male
  • Rarity: 5-Star
  • Vision: Anemo
  • Weapon: Claymore
  • Constellation:Lupus Majoris

Varka’s drip marketing began on January 23, 2026, revealing the Knight of Boreas as the first character in Genshin Impact capable of dual-wielding Claymores. According to datamined information from Hakushin, Varka is designed as a 5-Star Anemo hypercarry with a heavy emphasis on Swirl reactions. To fully utilize his kit, he requires one additional Anemo teammate and two characters sharing the same element—Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo. Since his damage scales with ATK, his most effective setup currently consists of two Anemo and two Pyro characters, with Venti, Durin, and Bennett forming his ideal lineup.

As a Hexerei character, Varka gains additional value when paired with other Hexerei units. For players who missed Durin in Version 6.2, an alternative team featuring Mona, Furina, and Jean remains viable. While beta testers have praised Varka’s fluid gameplay and impressive animations, his damage potential remains underwhelming. Even at peak performance, he struggles to compete with Lunar Reaction hypercarries such as Flins and Nefer.

That said, several factors remain worth considering. Varka benefits significantly from powerful Constellations and a strong Signature Weapon, making him appealing for players interested in vertical investment. Additionally, his strongest support may not yet be available. Both Nicole and Lohen are expected to join the Hexerei roster, with Lohen reportedly delayed until Version 6.6. With Dornman Port also postponed in Version 6.4, Varka is set to become the central focus of the update. He will receive a dedicated Story Quest, rumored to feature Thrain and Roland—two legendary knights from Teyvat’s history.

Players can pre-farm most of Varka’s ascension materials ahead of release, though Version 6.4 will introduce a new World Boss specifically for him: the Moongecko. Additional requirements include Mondstadt talent books, materials from the Version 5.6 Trounce Domain, and Wolfhooks. Varka will be available during the first half of Version 6.4, though HoYoverse has yet to confirm his banner companions. Datamines suggest that Skirk, Escoffier, Varka, and Flins will appear in Version 6.4, but the exact banner order remains unknown.

HoYoverse is expected to reveal an official breakdown of Varka and Version 6.4 during the upcoming Special Program on February 13, 2026. Until then, players can continue celebrating the Lantern Rite, stockpile Primogems, and decide whether Varka is ultimately worth pulling.
