With the official reveal of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag that came out in 2013, Ubisoft confirmed that the new version will be released on July 9 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

The studio also reveals plenty of exciting details about the upcoming remake. However, some fans, especially the owners of Nintendo Switch 2, are wondering whether the game will be released on the platform, given the fact that last year’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released on Nintendo Switch 2 in December. It looks like they just received a promising and positive update.

As revealed by gaming insider Nash Weedle, the version of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for Nintendo Switch 2 will be released after its initial launch on PC and consoles this summer. He just confirmed that, though he didn’t mention at least a rough estimate of when this might happen.

“As I mentioned before, some studios have been forced to prioritize certain games for the Switch 2, diverting resources they had set aside for ports of older titles.

Rest assured, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will be released on the Switch 2.”

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is using the upgraded Anvil gaming engine, which significantly improves the graphics and level of detail in the game compared to the original. As we saw in a reveal trailer, the game will feature enhanced high-resolution textures, photorealistic lighting, dynamic weather changes, improved and detailed cities teeming with life, expansive underwater exploration, and a completely seamless open world.

Ubisoft is also expanding the story of Edward Kenway by adding new story arcs to Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, which will last about 6 hours, and new characters will be added to the main character’s crew at pirate ship, Jackdaw. Darby McDevitt, the writer of original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, is confirmed as Black Flag Resynced writer as well.
