The case for a trailer was straightforward. The public has seen only a few minutes of the game in motion, and proper gameplay footage would push pre-order numbers higher. That said, the code-in-a-box physical release sold out on Amazon in under five hours, so the demand may not need the extra fuel. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously confirmed marketing would ramp up in earnest over the summer, which means a trailer probably is not far off even if it skips today. A cover art reveal and the start of pre-orders do not amount to the campaign Zelnick has been describing.

Citing insider Graczdari, ppe.pl says Rockstar plans actual physical copies on disc as early as December 2026, and Rockstar customer support has effectively confirmed it, telling a player the current pre-order is digital-only and that a physical copy will be available in the following months. Rockstar has made no official announcement on a disc release.

The stakes behind the marketing pace are large. A GamesIndustry report citing analysts projects GTA 6 selling around 38 million copies and over $3 billion in revenue in its first year, with Joost van Dreunen of Aldora sharing that outlook and Gareth Sutcliffe of Enders Analysis going higher at 50 to 60 million. Earlier reports put Take-Two's launch-day expectation at 20 to 25 million copies. Whatever the figure, the comparison point is clear: forecasts that put GTA 6 well past 30 million copies in its first year explain why every reveal beat is scrutinized this closely.
