Nytt My Hero Academia-spel avslöjat på Bandai Namcos sommarmässa
Bandai Namco is bringing back its Summer Showcase this week, and it’s teasing a full slate of games, led by the reveal of a brand-new My Hero Academia title. The announcement dropped with a 30-second teaser that confirmed the showcase will go live on July 2, with a “worldwide game reveal” on deck.
The company isn’t sharing any details about the new My Hero Academia game just yet, but the reveal will be the centerpiece of the livestream. This comes at a high point in the franchise, as the anime’s eighth and final season is set to premiere in October. Since My Hero Academia debuted in 2016, the story of Izuku Midoriya and his journey to become a hero has exploded into a global phenomenon. The anime has run for eight seasons and four movies, and the franchise has spawned several games, including My Hero One’s Justice and My Hero Ultra Rumble. Each title offered a different spin — from 3D arena fighters to battle royale — so the direction of this new game is still wide open.
Bandai Namco also confirmed that fans will get a new trailer for Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree during the showcase. This original action RPG hasn’t had a deep showing yet, but it’s part of Bandai Namco’s push for new IP. Then there’s a gameplay deep dive coming for Digimon Story: Time Stranger, a title first teased last year. Time Stranger is the next entry in the Digimon Story series, known for its mix of monster-raising, turn-based combat, and anime-style storytelling. The last major release, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, was well received for leaning into its narrative and mature tone.
The showcase is also expected to highlight Code Vein 2, the sequel to 2019’s vampire-themed action RPG. The first game gained attention for its anime-inspired visuals and Soulslike combat, blending high difficulty with heavy customization and post-apocalyptic world-building. While it wasn’t a perfect hit, Code Vein built a dedicated fanbase, so the sequel has some momentum behind it.

We’re also getting more from The Blood of Dawnwalker, the debut game from Rebel Wolves. This studio is led by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who directed The Witcher 3 and co-directed Cyberpunk 2077 at CD Projekt. Dawnwalker is a dark fantasy RPG that showed off new gameplay earlier this month and is now confirmed for a 2026 release. It’s running on Unreal Engine 5 and aims for a cinematic, narrative-driven approach. The game has already drawn comparisons to The Witcher, both in tone and combat.
Also appearing during the stream: Death Note: Killer Within. This one’s been quiet until now, but the name alone carries weight. Death Note hasn’t had a major game release in years. The original manga and anime series followed a supernatural murder mystery centered around a cursed notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. A game revival of that universe could go anywhere in terms of genre — stealth, strategy, or narrative-heavy mystery, all make sense.

Little Nightmares 3 is also back with a confirmed release date: October 10. The creepy puzzle-platformer returns with a new co-op focus. Players will control two characters exploring surreal and terrifying environments. Pre-orders for the digital version come with early access to Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition, so fans can revisit the original before launch.
Patapon 1+2 Replay is also expected to appear. These cult rhythm-strategy games first launched on the PSP and became fan favorites for their unique visual style and beat-based commands. The Replay versions will bring them to modern systems with updated visuals and new quality-of-life features.
Fighting game fans will also get more of Tekken 8. The game launched in early 2024 and has since expanded its roster with post-launch content. While not confirmed, there’s speculation that new fighters or season pass details will be part of the stream.
Another returning name is Super Robot Wars Y. This franchise is a long-running tactical RPG series famous in Japan for mashing up giant robots from various anime into grid-based combat. Each entry mixes visual novel-style storytelling with massive turn-based battles. The “Y” entry is new, and this will be the first major look at its gameplay and mecha roster.
Also in the lineup is Shadow Labyrinth, a mysterious title with minimal details so far. Based on its previous teaser, it looks like a dungeon crawler or horror-action hybrid, though Bandai Namco hasn’t shared much beyond the name and dark atmosphere.
Rounding it out is Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots. This casual golf series hasn’t seen a new mainline release in a few years, but it's been a long-time staple for Sony platforms. Its arcade-style gameplay and colorful art have helped it stay relevant across generations, and a comeback would fit the showcase’s theme of reviving fan-favorite franchises.
The Summer Showcase is shaping up to be packed. With the My Hero Academia reveal as the headline, Bandai Namco seems to be aiming for a balance of anime IP, RPGs, and legacy revivals. The livestream starts on July 2 at 12pm PT/ 3pm ET/ 9pm CEST. Whether it's new announcements or fresh trailers for existing games, fans of anime, RPGs, and action games will want to tune in.
